EATING DISORDERS AWARENESS WEEK 2008
FEBRUARY 23RD - MARCH 2ND 2008
EDRS, Center for Discovery and The Petaluma Health Care District kicked off national Eating Disorder Awareness Week (NEDAW) 2008 by sponsoring a free presentation for the families at the ANAD support group in Petaluma California.
Later that evening Buck described the Center for Discoverys' programs, and presented on the topic of self injurious behaviors and the eating disordered client. One of the goals of EDRS Is to increase training in the field of eating disorders. Therapists, nurses, dietitians, psychiatrists, and medical personnel in attendance gained knowledge and awareness through the information Buck graciously provided pro-bono in honor of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.

You are invited to a night filled with truth, comedy, slide shows, art, drama, music, ritual, storytelling and the a hope for recovery from eating disorders and trauma. Be prepared for some difficult images and topics which include the emotional and true reality of those who suffer from eating disorders, self hatred and abuse. You will also see the healing. Through my story I pray to help others in pain realize healing is possible, and perhaps inspire others to look inside their heart to see their beauty and inner voice; the power within and the power of love.
