Haleh Kashani, Ph.D.

Haleh Kashani, Ph.D., Executive Director of EDRS, has been a licensed psychologist in clinical practice for over 20 years. Dr. Kashani specializes in treatment of eating disorders with adults and adolescents. 

Dr. Kashani is currently in private practice in Marin County and works at the Out-Patient Eating Disorder program at Kaiser Permanente in San Rafael which she created and directed for the past 10 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree at University of Minnesota with Cum Laude honors in 1983 and her Doctoral degree in clinical psychology at California School of Professional Psychology in Berkeley in 1988.

In addition to her practice, Dr. Kashani has been actively involved in training professionals in the field of eating disorders as well as providing support and education to parents and community groups on this topic. Michelle Minero, MFT

Michelle Minero, the founder and former director of Eating Disorders Recovery Services (EDRS) graduated from the University of San Francisco with a BA in psychology in 1976 and a master in counseling in 1988.

Michelle has worked in the field of eating disorders since the late 1980's. As her work progressed in the field of eating disorders treatment it became clear that a treatment team was needed to be successful in this work. With this as a focus, Michelle developed the Quest Intensive Out Patient Eating Disorders Program in collaboration with many talented providers in the year 2000. She was the Program Director from 2000-2002.

Joan Thompson

Joan Thompson is the EDRS Outreach Coordinator, assisting EDRS in putting together programs, coordinating with community partners and serving as a liaison with families in need of information. Additionally, Joan serves as outreach coordinator for Petaluma Healthcare District and is instrumental in the ANAD group, facilitating the parent support group which is held weekly. Cat Meehan, CIC

Cat Meehan,  is a Certified Integrative Life Coach and MA Candidate working in the field of art and healing.  Cat recieved her B.A. in Psychology from Dominican University, was certified and trained at John F. Kennedy University and Ford Institute of Integrative Coaching working professionally with individuals, families and children.  Cat is affiliated with the International Coaching Federation, North Bay Coaches Association and International Expressive Arts Therapy Association. 

Cat has experienced issues of both "illness" and "wellness" within her family, navigating the recovery process with a child and engaging in her own transition of parental "recovery and healing". Her broad perspective, both personally and professionally, of individual and family dynamics, health, developmental and educational needs, wellness and recovery allows Cat to coach and support individuals and parents from a place of understanding.

Leslie Hayden-Malloy, RDH, PhD, CCN

Dr. Leslie Hayden-Malloy is a Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist and has recently joined the EDRS team to help with education and fundraising.  She received her doctorate in Nutrition Science and Endocrinology from the University of California, Davis in February of 2001.  She has a strong Biochemistry and Dietetics background and teaches Nutrition Science at Santa Rosa Junior College.

Leslie has a private practice in Petaluma California, (8 years) and specializes in disordered eating.  Her approach focuses on nutritional adequacy and balance of the macro and micronutrients and on nutrition education.  She uses several different approaches based on an individual’s uniqueness.  These include meal plans as well as intuitive eating.  Dr. Leslie’s mission is to provide supportive, nonjudgmental and compassionate care to each individual or family, and help them to achieve health, vitality and bring back the joy of eating whole, nutritious food.

Mary C. Fiumara, LCSW

Mary C. Fiumara, LCSW has been working with eating disorder clients and their families since 1985 when she was part of the original staff of the Renfrew Center in Philadelphia, PA. Since, she has developed and implemented various eating disorder programs, facilitated workshops on eating disorder awareness and prevention at organizations, universities and businesses.

Currently, Mary is the Manager of the Social Service and the Rehabilitation departments at Creekside Mental Health, a residential facility for the chronically mentally ill.  She had also worked at the Quest Eating Disorders Program.  Mary received her MSS in 1984 from Bryn Mawr College, PA, on a full scholarship, and a BSW and Women’s Studies Certificate from Rutgers University in 1982.  She has been published the Journal of Social Work Practice in the Addictions in 2001.

Mary serves as the Chairperson of the Education Series of EDRS.
