Testimonial and Letter of Thanks
02/21/2010
Dear Eating Disorders Recovery Services:
I am writing to congratulate you on your recent conference “Building a Bridge of Compassion.” I attended two of the three days, and was sorry I did not attend all three. As a practicing psychotherapist for more than twenty- five years I have been to many conferences, and I consider yours to be one of the best I’ve ever attended! The setting was beautiful, the attention to detail was meticulous, and the resource materials were relevant and valuable.
I found all of the information provided to be stimulating and refreshing. The combined expertise of so many well-informed and accomplished presenters provided a very well-rounded view of the etiology, treatment, diagnosis and prevention of eating disorders. I appreciated the combination of psychobiology, developmental theory, and self-compassion theory and training, as well as the Intuitive Health Model and the Healthy Family Model.
I would especially like to thank Dr. Haleh Kashani for compiling and sharing so much valuable research in the arena of self-compassion and recovery, Jackie Holmes, MFT for her well-developed presentation on recovery and relapse, and Michelle Minero MFT for her insights regarding the body as a bridge for healing and the excitement that she shared. I would also like to thank everyone else who worked so hard to make the weekend such an educational and beneficial experience and Joan Thompson for making sure we were all comfortable.
I look forward to next year! In the meantime, I applaud your success.
With sincere regards,
Kelley S. Dolan, Ph.D.
